But The Year 1823 Is When The License Was Officially Awarded. The Distillery Was Taken Over By John Gordon, Who Sold His Whiskey Under The Name of "The Real John Gordon. John Gordon Also Had

The Idea to Put A Score of Cows On The Surrounding Land to Dispose of Waste From The Distillery. In 1853, John Gordon Teamed Up With George Cowie Who Became The Sole Owner of John's Death In 1867.

Size

His Son, Alexander Mitchell Cowie Built A Line of Railway From The Distillery to The Station Dufftown. The Only Son Alexander Died In The War In 1917,The Distillery And Was Sold to John Walker & Co.
